What is wellness coaching?

Coaching is all about you. Together with your coach you will work towards your desired health and wellness goals.

Ever wondered why there is a gap between what you say you want and what you actually do?

Wellness Coaching can close this gap. It can assist you to overcome resistance to change by using a step by step, structured approach. Wellness Coaching supports you in working out what you want, why you want it, what’s stopping you and only then together create a plan for change.

Through this supportive relationship, Wellness Coaching will focus on facilitation and will empower you. You will take more responsibility, feel more confident as you experience small successes and ultimately achieve more significant change than you would on your own.

Why would YOU need a Wellness Coach?

There are many reasons. For instance, you might consider coaching if you:

·      Aren’t as healthy as you would like to be

·      Want to eat better

·      Don’t have an acceptable work-life balance

·      Have a lot of stress

As a wellness coach I can help you find the motivation and tools to achieve your goals.

How does it work?

First, you will have a health questionnaire to complete. Then we will sit down in person or over the phone. The first session will range from 60-75minutes and during this time we will talk about what you want to accomplish and create your wellness vision and a 3 month plan

We will explore the health and wellness areas you would like to improve. Start to imagine what your life would be like if you had your wellness the way you want it. 

Through the questions I will ask, together you’ll identify your priority areas, define your 3 month goals and the challenges that could stand in your way. Then you will outline the steps you will need to take to achieve those goals. You will also have some weekly goals, or small steps that will help you towards the 3 monthly goals for the following week. 

You will have some homework – things to think about or do between coaching sessions to work towards your goals. You might need to create ‘action plans’ of things you want to accomplish.

You will be in the drivers seat of your wellness journey. I will be your passenger offering support and guidance along the way. I will also hold you accountable for achieving your goals.

In each subsequent coaching session, weekly or as needed, we will spend 30 minutes reviewing progress, brainstorming strategies, meeting challenges, developing solutions, generating possibilities and agreeing on goals for the following week.

We will work together for a period of 3 months or longer. The time frame depends on how often we meet and what you’re hoping to accomplish.

Coaching is all about what you need or want. You are the focus. You won’t finish a coaching session without moving further towards achieving your goals and vision.
